CRIMSON CITY QUARTET NEWSLETTER

August 2008
Hey ya’ll! Where has the summer gone?  It seems like just yesterday we were looking forward to the summer.  Now it’s time for me to get back on the school bus.  This may be my last year to drive, and if I have my time calculated correctly I will be able to retire at the end of the 08/09 school year. We have been off some this summer on vacations and it’s been nice,

but we miss getting to meet all our friends, food and singing.  We are working on some new songs getting ready to head back to the studio.  We are taking our time to make sure we have the right songs that GOD wants us to have on this project.  As you know it takes money to record and with the price of fuel over $4:50 per gallon it takes awhile to save enough for that to happen.  Be patient because a new one is coming soon.  We have been blessed over the past 5 years to be able to keep traveling.  A lot of groups have come off the road because of the economy.

CCQ had our first bus break down last week.  We were scheduled to go back to BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH in Mobile, AL.  We got ready to leave and the generator was working perfectly.  We were waiting on the AC to cool the bus down before we left and all of a sudden everything quit.  So we threw everything in the little white trailer and hit the road.  It was full to the top with our sound equipment, and had more equipment, product and our suits in the back of my truck and also in my mom and dad’s SUV.  We knew we were going to have a good singing, because Satan was trying his best to keep us from going.  We got to the church only about 30 min. later than we had planned.  We got set up and started going over some songs with Mitch Green and Bennie Green.  I know what you are thinking, and no they are not related, haha.  People started showing up 1 hr before time for the singing to start. By the time church started no one else could get in the door.  Some even went back home because there was no where for them to sit or stand.  We had a great time as usual.  Grace Trio showed up and sang some and a new group called Freedom Road also sang a few songs.  It’s nice to meet others singing the gospel and carrying the message in song.

Keep CCQ in your prayers because we are at war with Satan and he is trying every way possible to stop this ministry.  But we are not going to be defeated!  We may have to get out the little white trailer from time to time and use the pickup truck but we will still get there..haha.  I was able to get the generator fixed without too much work, because I hate work..haha.  It will take us a week to find all our clothes and shoes, but if I try to put on Danny’s pants then we will know where they are..haha.  Time for me to get back on the school bus.  I’m sure some kids want to come home from school.  Have a great day.
